Goan Beef Curry

Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves- 6


Ingredients:
Beef- 2lb small pieces with bone
Onion- 3 medium
Tomatoes- 3 medium
Garlic paste- 1 tspn
ginger paste- 1 tspn
Red chillies- 4
Red chilli powder- 1tspn
Cloves- 4
Cinnamon- 2 small sticks
Cumin- 1 tspn
Peppercorns- 1/s tspns
Curry leaves(optional) - stem
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil

Method of preparation:
Pressure cook the beef pieces separately with chilli powder, salt and water and keep aside.
Grind onion, tomatoes, red chillies, cinnamon, cloves, ginger garlic paste and cumin seeds and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan and add the onion tomatoe paste to it.Add the peppercorns and curry leaves , chilli powder and salt and cook for 10 minutes in medium flame.
Add the cooked beef pieces to the curry in the pan and and cook in slow flame for 10 minutes.Add little w
water only if needed.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot..

Note:Can also be made with chicken, in which case the chicken can be added directly to the onion tomatoe mix and then cooked.There is no need to cook chicken separately.
